It’s officially summer (at least according to me!). School is out, and the days are longer. It’s even warmed up enough to bring our pool out for the kids.
We moved a few months back, and before we did, we gave all our patio furniture away. One less thing for us to have to move. Well, now summer is here, and I’m missing all my outdoor equipment. We just bought a new grill, thank goodness, but have yet to find a set of furniture we like, within our budget.
When I saw what this month’s Do-It-Herself Workshop project was, I got excited. I love the idea of a serving station where we can make drinks, have a few snacks, and even decorate outside a little. And I don’t even have to worry about the kids getting into anything, or having to set things on the ground.
Not only is it a fun and beautiful piece for outside, but it’s of course very functional and will come in handy for any outdoor entertaining.
It’s a little bare right now, because we just got it up, but I’m already on the hunt for some pretty decor for it. Is this something you think you’d like for your own backyard? Well, you’re in luck! Because this week, you can head to your local Home Depot and learn how to make one yourself! I’ll give you a clue…if I can do it, so can you! It’s a simple weekend project for anyone.
Even if you have never picked up a drill in your life, The Home Depot wants everyone to have the skills and confidence to be a first class do-it-yourselfer. And their in-store workshops are a great way to get step-by-step instructions and hands on experience learning to do simple décor and easy home improvements.
What are you waiting for? Grab a friend and check out the DIH Workshop the third Thursday of each month. There are different projects each month. So you’ll see something new and fun each time.
