Can you believe there are eight weeks until Christmas?! I know I say this all the time, but time really does go by too fast, especially the older you get.
Fortunately, I just happen to LOVE this time of year. It’s officially holiday season, with Halloween tomorrow, Thanksgiving next month, and then our favorite holiday, Christmas.
Do you have any special traditions for Christmas?
We attend Christmas Eve service at church, then drive home slowly, looking at all the Christmas lights. The girls put on their new PJs from their elf, and we wake up Christmas morning at home!
Do you like to decorate for Christmas? That’s a silly question, huh? Of course you do! I do, too, and it’s even more fun to do with the kids. This year, we even have some new décor from yours truly.
How cute are those?
This wooden stocking hanger was actually a really fun project, and you can even Do-It-Yourself at home thanks to The Home Depot.
The Home Depot wants everyone to have the skills and confidence to be a first class do-it-yourselfer. Their in-store workshops are a great way to get step-by step instructions and hands on experience learning to do simple decor (like this one!) and even some easy home improvements.
To make this Wooden Stocking Hanger, I stopped by my local Home Depot for the wood, some nails, and Mod Podge. The rest I already had at home.
This project was actually pretty similar to the wooden pumpkin holder I made before. I got to cut the stocking shapes out with a jigsaw, and cut down some pieces to create the box.
Now, instead of just painting it, I thought it would be fun and interesting to Mod Podge some wrapping paper on to it! Did you know that The Home Depot even carries wrapping paper for Christmas?
I really love the way it came out, and I can’t wait to display it in our home this holiday season! Are you ready to create your own wooden stocking hanger?
Great! Clear your calendar and grab your girlfriends because the third Thursday of each month is The Home Depot’s Do-It-Herself Workshop, an interactive, hands-on workshop held monthly at all The Home Depot locations, to empower women with the skills and knowledge to take their home-improvement project plans from dreams to done.
